I Want to Play

I want to play! Heavy bag on her back .Tears rolling down her cheeks. She enters the room and sits on her study table. Longingly she looks at her mother and pleads. Mama, I want to play. Sorry dear, its study time prompt was the reply.            The tiny figure said no more because she was expecting nothing better. Poor child browsed through English book. Then completed all the arithmetic sums.  Then came Hindi and G.K, the list was endless. She was too tired but was their any respite? None that the poor child could think of. So the cadavorous kept on toiling.        The dropping eye could bear no more. Once again came her pleading, Mama I am very tired. Can I take a nap? Ah no, you have to complete the rest of your home works. You have to do this, you have to do that. All sort of lectures fell upon her ears. But she could hear no more because she was in a deep sleep. But a broad smile spread on her face 'Coz only a dream could give her joy which was devoid all along. The long suffering and pain was over and finally she was happy.        Are we doing justice? Is it fair to crush the flower which is about to bloom? But who has to be blamed, society at large or our education system? Let the tiny toddelers bloom and spread their fragrance. Do not snatch away their childhood.                                                  Let the tiny toddlers bloom and spread their fragrance. Do not snatch away their childhood.
